Over 50’s Estate Access and Communications Infrastructure – Our client developed and operated over 50’s gated residential communities. Previous estates had issues with service delivery reliability and increasing maintenance costs and Active Online was commissioned to review the existing design and advise options for new estates. A new wireless system incorporating access control, communications, and surveillance cameras was proposed. The system is currently in the implementation phase with Active online providing delivery governance and supplying the TCP/IP SIP Colour Video Intercom and Access Control system.
Migration of Corporate Telecoms and IT to the Cloud – Active Online supported our client to move from their existing in-house solution to a Cloud Based Solution which provided both financial and operational benefits. Our involvement included the development of a viable strategy, assisting with procurement and providing ongoing support during the transition.
MDU review of internal communications infrastructure – On behalf of a client who provides technical solutions to Body Corporate, Active Online reviews existing building systems technology and provides advice on upgrade, integration, and smart management systems. Each building has different technical challenges and solutions are tailored accordingly. Active Online provides initial audit, review of existing systems, and recommendations for upgrade. Our involvement extends to development of the technical specification, assistance with procurement, and ongoing assistance during implementation.
The current environment includes telecommunication carriers seeking to expand their market position, end users demanding new and innovative services, and property developers/owners keen to differentiate themselves in the market. Telecommunication networks will be subject to continual demand for higher speed data services, security, energy and building management, and the replacement of ageing infrastructure to enable delivery of advanced services. Carriers, equipment manufacturers, and service proiders will be proposing their own solutions to deliver future requirements and analysis of the overall impact should be considered. The issues are particularly evident for multi dwelling unit developments where existing diverse infrastructure is typically not capable of supporting advanced services and is comprised of proprietary non IP based equipment.
Service providers such as pay TV operators demand standards based infrastructure to support their services adding further complexity.
In addition, the federal government continues to modify the applicable legislation changing the environment for deployment of telecommunication networks. Without specialist advice, it is increasingly difficult to identify the best solutions to the specific requirements of each location.
