The Akuvox VC50B is a 5MP AI bullet IP security camera designed for high-quality video monitoring in indoor and outdoor security applications. Combining a 1/2.8″ Sony STARVIS back-illuminated CMOS sensor with intelligent human and vehicle analytics, dual-light illumination and a rugged IP67 metal housing, the VC50B provides a versatile surveillance solution for residential and commercial installations.

The camera supports H.265 and H.264 video compression with a main stream resolution up to 2592 x 1944 at 25fps. ONVIF and RTSP support provide integration options with compatible network video and surveillance systems.

5MP Sony STARVIS Image Sensor

At the heart of the VC50B is a 1/2.8″ Sony STARVIS back-illuminated CMOS sensor providing 5MP resolution and 2616 x 1964 effective pixels. Minimum illumination is specified at 0.003 lux with the F1.6 aperture and AGC enabled, providing excellent low-light imaging capability.

The camera supports 120dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), 3D noise reduction, white balance, anti-flicker and adjustable saturation, brightness, contrast and sharpness.

Wide 124° Field of View

A fixed 2.8mm F1.6 lens provides a wide field of view of 96° horizontal, 72° vertical and 124° diagonal. This wide viewing angle provides broad scene coverage for entrances, building perimeters, outdoor areas and other surveillance applications.

Dual IR and Warm Light Illumination

The VC50B incorporates both infrared and warm white light illumination for monitoring across changing lighting conditions. Infrared illumination has a specified range of up to 40 metres, while white light illumination reaches up to 30 metres.

The camera supports colour and black-and-white day/night operation with an IR cut filter, providing flexible imaging options during both daytime and low-light operation.

Smart Human and Vehicle Detection

Built-in intelligent video analytics support human and vehicle detection for intrusion and line-crossing events. This enables supported perimeter events to distinguish human and vehicle activity.

Additional intelligent monitoring functions include motion detection, scene change detection and video tampering detection.

Built-In Microphone and Speaker

The VC50B incorporates both a built-in microphone and speaker. Audio compression support includes G.711A/U and AAC, allowing audio functionality to be incorporated into compatible surveillance applications.

ONVIF and RTSP Integration

The VC50B supports both ONVIF and RTSP, providing integration options with compatible third-party network video systems and applications. Network connectivity is provided through a 10/100Mbps adaptive RJ45 Ethernet interface.

PoE or 12V DC Power

IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet allows the VC50B to receive network connectivity and power through compatible PoE infrastructure. The camera can alternatively be powered from a 12V DC ±10% supply, providing flexibility for different installation environments.

Local Storage up to 512GB

An external SD card slot supports storage capacities up to 512GB, providing an option for local video storage directly at the camera.

IP67 Metal Housing for Outdoor Installation

The VC50B uses a durable metal housing with an IP67 ingress protection rating for outdoor environments. It has a specified working temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and supports working humidity up to 95% RH.

NDAA Compliant Camera Components

Akuvox states that the camera components used in the VC50T are NDAA compliant, providing an additional consideration for security installations where equipment sourcing and compliance requirements are important.

Cloud Video Storage Included

One year of cloud video storage is included with 30-day event recording. After the included period, ongoing cloud video storage at US$10 per year.
