The Akuvox R29S is a sophisticated SIP video door phone and access control terminal designed for apartment buildings, office buildings and larger building complexes. Combining a large 7-inch touchscreen with video intercom and multiple access control methods, the R29S provides a comprehensive entrance solution in a robust aluminium enclosure.

The R29S supports two-way audio and video communication over IP networks while providing multiple ways for authorised users to gain entry. Integration with SIP and ONVIF systems provides flexibility for incorporating the door phone into compatible communications, security and video surveillance infrastructure.

7-Inch Touchscreen Interface

A large 7-inch capacitive touchscreen provides the main interface for the R29S. The IPS LCD features an 800 x 1280 resolution, providing a clear interface for visitors and users at the entrance.

The aluminium front panel combines the large touchscreen with the integrated camera, audio components and access control functionality in a single entrance station.

2MP Wide-Angle Video Camera

The integrated 2MP camera supports video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 using H.264 video encoding. The camera provides a wide field of view for monitoring visitors and activity around the entrance.

The R29S also incorporates infrared illumination, a light sensor, white light LED and motion sensor. Automatic white balance is supported, with minimum illumination specified at 0.1 lux.

Multiple Access Control Methods

The R29S provides multiple methods of unlocking an entrance, including EM/MIFARE card, PIN and QR code access. Its integrated RF reader supports both 13.56MHz and 125kHz credentials, with supported card types including EM, MIFARE, DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3 and Felica cards.

NFC is also supported with compatible Android devices, providing an additional credential option for suitable installations.

Integrated Door Control

Three relay outputs and three inputs provide extensive options for incorporating the R29S into an entrance and access control system. Individual relays can also be controlled using DTMF tones.

The unit additionally provides a selectable Wiegand input/output port and RS485 connectivity for integration with compatible access control equipment.

SIP and ONVIF Integration

The R29S supports SIP v1 and SIP v2, enabling integration with compatible SIP-based communication systems. Audio features include G.711a, G.711? and G.722 codecs together with echo cancellation, voice activation detection and comfort noise generation.

ONVIF compatibility and support for third-party video components such as NVRs provide further options for incorporating the R29S camera into compatible video security systems.

PoE Network Connectivity

A 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet interface provides network connectivity, with support for IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet. PoE allows compatible installations to provide network connectivity and power through the Ethernet infrastructure.

Designed for Outdoor Entrance Applications

The R29S features an aluminium front panel and IP65 enclosure rating for resistance to dust and water ingress. It also carries an IK06 impact rating and incorporates tamper alarm support.

The specified operating temperature range is -20°C to +55°C with operating humidity from 10% to 90%. Both flush-mounted and wall-mounted installation configurations are supported.

High-Capacity Access Management

For larger installations, the R29S supports capacity for up to 20,000 users, 3,000 contacts, 100,000 cards and 20,000 PINs. Management features include auto-provisioning, a web management portal, configuration backup and restore, entry log export, access table import and export, firmware upgrades and system logs including door access logs.
