Akuvox R29C LTE Ready 7″ Touchscreen SIP Video Door Phone with Facial Recognition

The Akuvox R29C LTE Ready is an advanced SIP video door phone and access control terminal designed for apartment buildings, high-rise offices and larger building complexes. Combining a 7-inch touchscreen, facial recognition, video intercom and multiple access control methods, the R29C provides a comprehensive entrance solution in a robust aluminium enclosure.

Unlike the standard R29C, this LTE-ready version includes the required connection for the optional AK-LTEMOD LTE module and the firmware required to support it. This allows the R29C to be configured for LTE operation where a conventional network connection is unavailable or impractical.

Important: The AK-LTEMOD LTE module is not included with the AK-R29C. It must be purchased separately when LTE connectivity is required.

The LTE-ready AK-R29C can also be used without the LTE module as a standard networked R29C when LTE connectivity is not required. This model does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE) and requires a separate power supply.

7-Inch Touchscreen Interface

The R29C features a large 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, providing an intuitive interface for visitor communication and access control. The documented R29C-L configuration uses a 7-inch IPS LCD with an 800 x 1280 resolution.

Facial Recognition Access Control

Facial recognition provides a convenient contactless method of authorised entry alongside the other access methods supported by the R29C. The documented R29C-L configuration supports up to 20,000 face templates, with facial recognition speed specified at less than 500ms and recognition accuracy of 99%.

Multiple Access Control Methods

The R29C provides multiple methods of gaining authorised entry, including facial recognition, RFID card, PIN and QR code access. This flexibility allows different credential methods to be provided for residents, employees and other authorised users.

The documented R29C-L configuration supports both 13.56MHz and 125kHz RF credentials, including EM, MIFARE, DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3 and Felica cards. BLE access is also supported by the R29C-L configuration.

2MP Wide-Angle Video Camera

The main 2MP camera provides high-definition video for entrance monitoring and video communication. The documented R29C-L configuration supports video resolution up to 1920 x 1080 with H.264 video encoding and a viewing angle of 115° horizontal and 63° vertical.

Infrared and white light LED illumination, a light sensor and motion sensor provide additional capabilities for entrance monitoring. Automatic white balance is supported, with minimum illumination specified at 0.1 lux.

LTE Ready with Optional AK-LTEMOD Module

The AK-R29C is an LTE-ready version of the R29C, providing the required physical connection and firmware support for the optional AK-LTEMOD LTE module. This provides additional installation flexibility at locations where conventional network infrastructure is difficult or impractical.

LTE connectivity is not built into the AK-R29C itself. LTE operation requires the optional AK-LTEMOD module, which is sold separately and is not included with the door phone.

When LTE is not required, the AK-R29C can operate without the AK-LTEMOD as a standard networked R29C. The AK-R29C does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE) and requires a separate power supply.

Integrated Door Control

The R29C provides integrated access control functionality for connection to compatible entrance systems. The documented R29C-L configuration provides two relay outputs and two inputs, with individual relay control by DTMF tones.

Wiegand and RS485 connectivity provide additional integration options for compatible access control equipment.

SIP Video Intercom

The R29C provides two-way audio and video communication over IP networks. The documented R29C-L configuration supports SIP v1 and SIP v2 together with G.711a, G.711?, G.729 and G.722 audio codecs. Audio functionality also includes echo cancellation, voice activation detection and comfort noise generation.

Outdoor Entrance Applications

The R29C features an aluminium front panel and an IP65 enclosure rating for suitable outdoor entrance applications. The documented operating temperature range is -20°C to +55°C, with working humidity from 10% to 90%.

Both flush-mounted and wall-mounted installation configurations are supported, providing flexibility for different entrances and building designs.

High-Capacity Access Management

The documented R29C-L configuration supports up to 20,000 users, 3,000 contacts, 20,000 face templates, 100,000 cards and 20,000 PINs. Management capabilities include auto-provisioning, a web management portal, configuration backup and restore, entry log export, access table import and export, firmware upgrades and system logs including door access logs.
